 Taken of an old grist mill on Purgatory Creek in Buchanan, Virginia. It hasn't been used for years and the building burned about 15 years ago, but the water wheel and part of the structure are still standing. The water trough is still there too, but broken and obviously there is no water running through it anymore.

Probably a stretch for this challenge, but I like the shot.

Looks oversharpened to me, a different way to get grainy feeling would work better. I like the colors and the crop even with burnt upper right corner.

We have a campground here called Spook Cave. They have an old water powered grinding mill that looks identical to this. More like 150 years too late.

Wonderful grainy texture helps all the old rusty pieces. Nice drab forlorn feeling "8"

Probably more than 15 years, certainly meets the prize for "lateness". I like the graininess. This picture works well for me.

When the challenge is over I want to contact you to talk about the post-processing. I've been trying to get this kind of contrast in my photos (a series of landscape/barns I've been taking) but I can't quite get it right.

This is a great pic, btw.

I would like to have scored this higher - it's a lovely shot, although I don't really get the title or much of a too late connection. Most annoying though is that this seems to be over sharpened - uneccessarily too - which is such a shame.
