Wow! My first time setting up a shoot rather than just taking snapshots and it's top ten percent!
Huge thanks for all the votes and comments.
I would have liked a more perfect line, but didn't have time to set it up again. I varied the DOF from front to back but it worked better toward the middle. Maybe the cigarette most in focus should have been something different, perhaps a lit one or a different colour, but then the uniformity would have been lost (and the effect of a marching army was what I was going for - I had forgotten about The Wall at the time) and I would have had to change the title - perhaps there'll be an 'Odd One Out' challenge in the future? The floor in front looked completely black on the monitor I used for editing, but the cigarettes did look like they were floating in mid-air rather than marching on a solid floor. Oh, and yes, I'm a smoker.
Thanks again.

Another great idea to which shallow dof is missaplied. Great lines. Reshoot and submit to health challenge! |

My opinion is no better than anyone else's, but, fwiw: the shallow DOF constraint hurts this image. I think it could be a genuinely striking entry in something like patterns with a deep DOF and a slightly different crop. The background in the lower right needs a bit of work. 6 fior this challenge. |

Kind of a "Pink Floyd" Meets Phillip Morris! I like it! |

great idea, reminds me of pink floyd 'the wall' with the walking hammers. i would have liked a more evenly lit foreground, but this is a 7 from me. |

Very original, well done. Execution lack a bit. Focus a bit more to the front or way back, on the 1st 3rd or the last 3rd. And maybee move the camera up a bit and tilt it down a bit otherwise well done. |

Instead of hammers, eh? I like the concept, it could benefit from a little more post-processing. Seems a bit raw and dingy still. |

7 - Good use of shallow DOF. Symmetry looks very good and near perfect. Criticism; not much, maybe the focal point slightly more fore but your call. The 'base' seems to have very slight gamma issues but it could be the texture/fabric, minor anyway. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop on the left, not sure. |
