People at dpc like to say that centered images are not as good as images that are using the rule of thirds - this is arguable in theory and on this photo ... I'm not really sure - but i think this might be both - if cropped just a smidge tighter - the lighting is great and the bird and tailfeathers are interesting and detailed -- I've found these birds to be quite cooperative in photos :) 7 |

The bird is beautifully shot, but too central. Also, I would suggest cropping about 1 1/2 inches down from the top to balance the image better. Wonderful pure white and great detail on the bird! |

I find the negative space here dull. Maybe a bit more saturation of the blues? |

Nicely exposed shot, tricky with those whites. |

Excellant picture of the egret. However there appear to be dust spots all over the sky. You could have edited them out in this challenge. |

What a beautiful bird - as long as it stays on it's perch with that long sharp beak. lol Nicely composed and focused. The textures of the tail feathers really come through. Taken at a very good angle as the sun casts perfectly upon this bird. |

I think a slightly closer crop and less centered composition would improve this. |

Would have crop on the left side and removed the airplane trace. Nice lighting. |

Great Egret. Snowy Egret has yellow feet and a shorter neck. |
