I like the unconventional framing. I don't like the shadows behinnd the flowers (or the fact they are fake). Try placing the subject a bit further away from the background to reduce harsh shadows. |

Very nice colors, The subject is a bit too far off the picture and with so much white space, it makes me feel like the camera shifted when you took it. Good focus. |

I like the artistic direction you are going with the composition. IMHO I dont think quite so much negative space is needed to achieve the effect. Perhaps a tighter crop and weighting the flowers heavier in the composition would have added to the shot? |

I really like the concept. A lot. It may be the resizing for the competion, but the focus / sharpness feels a bit soft. |

Interesting framing... I wish the shadows weren't quite so harsh here, but you did a good job getting the white the same shade the whole way across. |

I like the concept, but for me, there is too much negative space compared to the vase and flowers. Since the vase is a vertical object, I wonder how this would look as a vertical, rather than horizontally framed image. |

Hmmm... the negative space is growing on me as I am looking at the photo, brave idea. Since you chose to chop off parts of vase and flower, I think you should have gone that little bit further and NOT have included the bit of background space to the right of the vase.
The shadows from the flash are too harsh. Try bouncing your flash or using a diffuser. |

A daring composition - a bit too drastic perhaps. If you showed the line of the mantle below it might seem more reasonable to have the picture extend so far to the left. Your lighting has created some stark shadows, which I find distracting - perhaps lighting from two directions, or use a bounce to fill in the back? |

This is a good use of negative space, however the really tight crop takes away from the photo in my opinion. I'd like to see all the flowers and vase in the frame. |

I am so glad you offset the subject. I felt it should be for the challenge. Nice background too. Looks like rice paper. |
