I have to say I really like the noise/grain in this image...the shallow focus is also nice...and there is just something so pretty about purple and green when they're together.

Nice composition and DOF here. IMHO the contrasts and detail seems a tad harsh in some elements of the shot. Also, the image quality seems a little degraded. Perhaps use of neat image may have helped?

Lovely image here, so well done, and I like this purple haze. Lovely effect in this flower image.

there is a lot of noise and grain in this shot that is working against you.

I'm not sure what happened here. Looks like it was processed to the end of its life in PS. If not, there's a ton of noise and nto much in focus. The focal point is spread throughout the pic so the rule of thirds is kind of messed up. This gets a 2 and not a 1 because it's not as bad as the Oops challenge pic of the foot stepping in dog crap.

to strong contrast I like to see this more closer to a photo-picture

Very pretty and it has the POP factor. It seems a tad out of focus and then maybe repaired with unsharp mask. Or maybe I need to go to sleep and look again in the morning!! Very vivid - love the purple tones!

I would have gone in and softened up some of the noise in the background, but very pretty and unusual flower!
