If you are going to do a rose, this is a very nice way of doing it. Excellent focus, exposure, contrast and processing.

i like how the rose fills the frame. It's a little noisy, but i think i like it that way. Very good tones and gradations

Very nice. Sharp and colorful. Nice macro work. There seems to be a touch of noise in the shadow, but that maybe my monitor. I'll wait till I am home to vote.

Color doesn't offset subject from rest of photograph. But it's a nice closeup.

Nice composition, but I find the focus a bit distracting.

"Use a colorful impact to offset your subject from the rest of the photograph." This is a lovely image of a rose, but the entire frame has been filled with "subject", there is nothing the red is being offset from or by. For that reason this really doesn't answer the challenge, no matter how fine it may otherwise be. A 5 from me, for it is surely colorful so you got half of it :-)
