 This is simply a picture of some pastel coloured plastic drinking straws taken in my home using a southwest facing window as the light source. I used the usual editing tools--including a fair amount of Saturation and USM--but, as far as I can remember, I didn't use any "artistic" filters on this. The shot was hand held.

nice idea, excellent color, nice light, good shadowing, ok texture, maybe a wider focal point, nice movement, nice lines, nice layering, overall a very nice job

Contrast and focus are just a little too soft for this to really work. A more diffused light source, with a stronger fall-off would have really helped. By this, I mean getting it to become darker, faster, the deeper into the photo we go.

this is one of the most boring pictures in this challenge... a line of straws... just a stock photo and would have done much better in a stock challenge.

Now we know who stole all the crazy straws at Chuck E Cheese.

Love the contrasting colors. This image takes you back to the early childhood days and the fun that came along with them.

The pastel colours do compliment each other nicely, but the pink one seems to be the odd one out. Still, I think that works so that the photo has some kind of focal point :)
