The web in this shot is amazing. I love that we can see traces of it on the right, and I love that the image is almost divided into two. I only wish the spider were in a more camera-friendly pose. :)

Nice shot, not so scary!!

It's a nice shot, but I think that it would look better if the angle was changed to show the glisten better and more evenly over the whole web.

Is it a woodlouse?
07/13/2002 05:12:00 AM

One of the better spider photos.

It would be better if we could see his face. Nice colors.

nice photo. interesting effect how the pattern on the spiders back merges with the thaw drops.
a bit unbalanced because of the huge dark area in the upper left corner.
maybe try to crop the left third of the picture. that would also create an interesting off centering of the spider.
"fear" is ok, though the spider looks not very frightening. zooming in for showing more detail might have helped with that.

This has to be .. what? the fifth one so far? Still, this one looks quite a bit better than the others I've seen,

A nice effect on your web, but I have difficulty making out your spider. Yes they are fearful to most but much more so if they are clearly represented in the picture. A 4 by Autool

Aaaah a spider, would have been better if there was a scared person showing fear in the picture.

Excellent photography!! Although I'm not afraid of spiders in general, I wouldn't want to meet this one face to face. Great Work!!!

meeting challenge = 4 photo quality = 5. Nice shot - I like that the web in included here. However - it is more of a beautify shot of nature than fear for me. total = 9

Good depth, and excellent capture of the details. That is one mean looking spider. Would have been totally awesome if it were possible to get the web as clear on the left as it is on the right. karmat

Good shot! Spider webs are very difficult to photograph. In order to get them nicely, there are several things you can do... first of all, a dark backdrop helps because you need to have the web and the camera lens perfectly parallel to each other in order to get the depth of field just right to keep the entire web in focus. In this image, you are photographing from the right and the left side of the web is vanashing into the outside ranges of the focal plane. It takes two people or some sort of prop to keep the backdrop behind the image. It also helps if you can use a tripod to hold your camera very steady for a shot like this... good work! = 7 - jmsetzler

Nice depth of field! It is a little hard to make out the details on the spider, but I think that's just the way he posed. Good work
