I just realized, this looks a bit like Sean Connery in his younger years. Really a good portrait.

The way the face and expression has been captured really makes this photo. A pity the post-processing seems overdone and uneven.

Is it Sean Connery ??? great job- you want to reach out & smooth down those eyebrows.

7 - Fairly good texture capture and nice portrait. Like to see even more detail in the texture (for the Challenge), but I realize, being a portrait, it is perhaps not desired. A tighter crop, especially on the right, likely have made this even better in my opinion and given a little more 'drama'. Not sure on the 'effects', especially in the clothing at the bottom. Perhaps a variation in lighting too, although it could be the results of the filters/effects, not sure, just seems (the skin mainly) a little 'uneven', but perhaps you were aiming for this.

Great subject. Nicely composed and lit. Does a good job conveying emotion. But feels a little over sharpened to me. Hope it does well in the voting.

Very good portrait and a handsome subject. Very direct and intelligent gaze. It draws you in. Great capture of the texture. Those look like the eyebrows of a Scot or Irishman. I wonder if I'm correct? :D I'm not finished voting but this should be in the top 5.

Sweet. I wish I could vote, this would easily be a <10>, and is probably a winner anyway. WOW!

Great portrait. The clarity of the eyes is good. I don't immediately think "texture," although the skin and beard certainly have that. Hmmm - I'm going to think on this and come back.
