Nice framing job with the clouds. The hard part of shooting moon shots is getting it big enough -- people at my work don't seem to get that -- you pretty much need some incredible equipment to pull it off well. I think that's the biggest problem, the moon just isn't large enough in this shot. It's supposed to be the center of attention, but it gets lost in all the blue.

Bigger moon next time

I like the colors here, and the simplicity. The clouds form a nice lower and upper fram as well. However, I almost lost the moon my first time looking. Unless you have a telescope or really good zoom, I think pictures of the moon are hard to do well.

Someday I want to go on a rocket ship to the moon.

Nice. Mighta been neat if, assuming you had a bit more zoom left, the moon coulda been a little more prominently featured. Maybe shifted over a bit to the left, too.

nice color but not very creative. Bland picture.

nice clouds!

How did you get a photo of a moon that's nearly full this week? It was a new moon here on earth :)
07/20/2002 07:55:00 PM
good composition and contrasts

nice rich blue..polarizer??? the moon set off to the right edge would make it look better

I'm curious -- with the moon it that phase and position it seems as though it should be late morning or early afternoon...

Good colors

nice sky. the moon is a little overwhelmed. still cool.

Great color in the sky, but if thats the best lens you have you should avoid submitting pictures of the moon. you need a lens with a larger focal length, maybe a telescope, I'm not familiar with taking pictures of the moon. But you need something to make that moon larger.

Good strong contrast, I would have preferred to see the moon on the bottom-right intersection of thirds. 6-ClubJuggle

Nice concept... 6 sjgleah

I like the clowds on the bottom of the shot. This a neat shot even without the moon.

Nothing very exciting or emotionaql here.

subtle, but cool, maybe a little too subtle. I would have liked to see a little more definition in the moon for this to be a "great" shot. 7 Swash

terrific!
07/17/2002 10:25:00 AM
nice, but having the moon smack dab in the center really doesn't do well. and just having it be so small really sucks.
07/17/2002 09:49:00 AM
while there's nothing wrong technically with this shot, it's just not too exciting for me. the moon is rather small in comparison to the rest of the shot (yes, i do realize that the moon is a looong way away from earth) and therefore is easily lost. even though the clouds frame it nicely. -- gr8photos (4)

the clouds formation attracted me more.. then I saw the moon..
07/16/2002 12:00:00 AM
Nicely done! The colors and the framing are near perfect.

Pretty shot and nicely done. Congrats. Kee

I love the frame of the clouds, and your sky is so blue. So lovely!

Excellent use of framing by the clouds, I like this.

beautifully exposed

nice photo, but something is missing 6

cool moon
07/15/2002 08:12:00 AM
Very nice with the cloud bank.
07/15/2002 06:31:00 AM
Interesting image... I think that shots of the sky lack impact. The moon in this particular image is too small to create a strong subject... = 5 - jmsetzler

Good
