 This is my 300th submission in DPC photo contests. I was considering waiting until I had a picture that I thought was ribbon worthy for my 300th. I like this shot but I do not think it will be a contender. I decided to enter it anyway. I think it had possibilities with the right lens. I was pushing the limits of my 70-200 mm taking this shot from about 10 ft. away. Cropped, levels, curves, sharpened.

The cardinal is a nice capture, but the red competes too much with the pink. I think that the combination of pink and green could have been strong enough to stand alone without the cardinal.

Hello, for what it's worth, I voted as I did bc I found the colours here to be a bit on the dull side. I'm no expert, but perhaps a bump in hte hues to bring out the greens might increase the contrast of the complimentary colours. Also, on my computer, the focus seems a tad soft. I do like the ocmposition tho and it is certainly unlike most pix in this challenge.

bad focus but interesting concept. could use a better title but since you reall yneeded to point out what to focus on in this photo i guessits better to leave it as is. 5.

4 - Tough one. Fairly good capture and unusual with the pinks.. but for the Challenge, that's one of the first things I see is the colors, and the green isn't as dominant with the cardinal as I'd like to have seen. Opportunity capture, so little to be done, including sharper/more definition on the cardinal's beak/face/eyes. Unusual though.
