 When everything looks truly horrible, life is hitting you from all sides, everthing is bleak; if your lucky, somewhere, a light will shine on your life. Or I like to believe it anyway. This is not the image I went there to take but this is the image I returned with. That often happens in life, yes?

I like this one a lot so I really don't care of the DNMC people who think there is more than 1 thing in the room. And I don't care of the un-calibrated monitor people who say its too dark. I'm going to frame it so I can look at every time life gets a little dark.

Well, when I went to edit this image, I figured out that my CS was 'broken' and would not allow me to mask. Rebooting the system fixed nothing so I gave up. Editing consisted of converting from raw, curves, shapen, resize with border, save for web.

Hi dahkota, it's been a while since I've been active here and I started going through some of my favorite photographer portfolios and came across this little gem. Personally I think this is a very powerful image and accomplishes exactly what you had hoped it would accomplish (at least for me). Where did you find this perfect little room? I love the image and all that it represents, for me it's not too dark at all. It would be nice to see a reshoot of this that wasn't DPC "legal". What I mean is, I would enjoy seeing a composite that exposes for the candle blended with the current exposure you have for the room. The candle seems a bit "hot" in this image, and a composite would give more detail to the candle and soften the image a little bit. That's just personal taste though.... Great shot!!!

I really like this picture - a bit messy for an empty room, but that is accepted. Nice light, shades, color tones as well

It's mysterious but creepy. I wish that the picture was just a little bit lighter, or maybe some dodging on the ceiling could be done (or is it just my screen?). Overall, it's very nicely composed and I like the tones.

I really like this one, it looks sinister because of the coloring...yet angelic because of the light rays. It is beautiful.

Wow! This is a powerful image. I really like it a lot. The lightsource is really cool, and i love what it does to the shadows in this gritty room. I think this is going in my favs :D
