Cropped, enhanced colors, lighting, contrast, USM, late in contest after dark on a raining day, this little fella seemed quite content to help me with this important assignment, he was wary, but in no real hurry to leave.

Please pardon the inclusion of the photo in the challenge. I am trying to keep pace with my education in photography while juggling my responsibilities as a Stay-at-Home Daddy of a 2 1/2 year old little girl. I was running out of time that Sunday evening & editted/submitted an inferior image. My BAD!
If it needs any explanation, the black metal on the left & the garden hose on the right were ostensibly the "frame." However, the rationale "stinks like a mummy"... even to me...in retrospect, because (as I have confessed) "like a mummy"...I, too, was "pressed for time." ;) SCH

Greetings from the Critique Club Stan.

I really don't want to beat you down any further. As you know, the DNMC didn't help you as there is no real sense of framing. The use of flash here left the image flat while blowing out his belly and the hot spot in the foreground. If you were to reshoot it to try to get the technicals right, and the frog was being still and cooperative; tripod mount your camera and use a longer shutter speed rather than the flash. This would help with the flatness and lack of pop.

Thanks for the opportunity to critique this image Stan.

Cheers - Phil

1 - Too hard pushed to see a frame here - just see a toad and some 'yard stuff' and a bit of harsh flash. Doesn't meet Challenge, in my opinion.

Cool frog! I'd love to see this in a simpler exposure! Well done though!

I don't think writing 'frame' in the title is enough...

This photo has no real set frame. There is a lot of negative space on the right and at the bottom of the photo. You probably should have zoomed in on the toad a little more. The object on the left really hinders the photo. And there could be some adjustment with the brightness and contrast

I DON'T SEE A FRAME IN THE FOREGROUND.

Personal opinion is DNMC. There's some line elements on either side, but not really framing IMO. Without the framing aspect, I find the right side distracting.
