 City glow from 3 hr drive away from Akl city. Taken at 1am looking north. Left camera on a tripod and left it for how ever long 2872.0 secs is!. Approx 3/4 of an hour, used no flash, and a cord with mirror lock up. cant seem to put lens in to this, it was a 17-40L Canon

Very nice picture. Too bad you couldn't get the information in as this would have been a top 10 finisher.

Question: what kind of tripod did you use?

This is such a beautiful picture... I just wish the whole silloutte at the bottom was as crisp as it starts off to be on the right side.

this is rather stunning. it's let down a bit by the harsh banding eveident in the difference between the yellows, oranges and reds, but that aside it has very many strong points. the soft glow eminating from the water is gorgeous, as are the streaks of light in the sky. it's a pity spot editing isn't allowed as you could 1) make the land in the background a bit darker (it looks a tad washed out / orange to me) and 2) get rid of that little red dot in the foreground. these are minor complaints though - overall this is a stirring and dramatic landscape. 9.

This shot I like, really like. Normally I hate blurry photos but this one just really speaks to me, something with the mix of coloring, composition and most definately the mood in it really gets to me. I don´t think you are scoring well though as this is not a typical "do well on dpc" photo, I hope you are though but for what it´s worth, it got a 10 from me and wound up on my favorites list.

Very interesting. I think the colours are too fake looking but you know what I like? I love that the water is in the shape of Africa. Not sure if you planned the composition that way, but the red and orange colours compliment that shape. If that shape were not there the colours would not mean so much, now they take on a meaning of the hot African sun, etc. Well done.
