| I like what you were going for here, a nice simple still life. I think it could have been done a little more effectively though. I do not like the way the books pages are turned towards us because you can't see any deatail in them, this causes just a white corner. The strobe you used seems a little harsh on the apple, and I don't care for the way the light dies off on half the apple... just some suggestions. |

| Great composition. The apple on is a bit dark . If you were able to desaturate everything but the red of the apple , the piece would be more powerful. The framing works with this photo. |

| nice composition. it's a little too dark on the left anf there is a distracting hot spot on the apple, but overall it looks nice. |

| One of my favorites of the challenge. I love the colors and high contrast. Nice composition, too, with the book, the apple and the blackboard. Nothing about this that doesn't say "school". 10 |

| One of my favorites in a very competitive challenge! I think this is technically excellent - great composition, lighting, tone, color, focus and border selection. I hope someday I can take a shot like this. I really like the way the colors complement each other but somehow remain subtle. Great job - very high score:) |

| I like this - especially with the double-meaning of the title. Basic math, but also basic (classic) images of school. Lovely composition, good rich colors - this is a great image to convey a sense of school and back-to-school. |
