 Halogen light and soft gold reflector. Room lights off - shot at night on black shirt. Whole image adjusted with levels, saturation, contrast, slight curves, and grayscale mode. Slightly sharpened and despeckled. 36mm focal length cropped to size.

I like this shot in black and white. I think if the really smooth shell on the far left (or it looks smooth) was between the starfish and the shell on the right, it would show the contrast of the textures even better.

this is a beautiful black and white... the texture is really nice as well... I originally scored this with an 8 but after looking at it for a little while, I see nothing wrong with it and I can't really imagine a better way to do this photo. good work :) = 10 - jmsetzler

I love this, as one of my top 3 for this challenge - it works so well in B/W. I would love to see just a little more of the bottom half of the starfish. Great piece of art. but what is under the starfish on the left side. It's not distracting or offencive in any way but it bothers me that I can't tell what it is. Good luck - Mike

Wonderful textures! The only complaint I have is the object that starts in the top left and ends in the middle top is distracting because the lighting is low. Evening out the lighting on it would help or eliminating it altogether. 8.
