Great lighting in the shot. You were able to capture some really good shadows casted onto the egg. The reflections and the shadows on the wisk are absolutely beautiful, very vivid. Would make for a great post card or greeting card with a cooking theme.

This gave me a chuckle, very inventive! Great use of shadow and light, I'm a sucker for shadow becoming a strong element of the composition. Good use of tonal contrasts... in fact this shot is really a study in all sorts of contrasts from the nurturing element of the egg v. the violence of the whisk to the contrast of straight lines v. round forms, and so on.
The elements in the frame are balanced well, the crop is perfect. Nice one! 10

Wonderful composition and use of lighting. The grays add to the meaning nicely.

Well Ursala, I guess we know this is yours now :) When I first checked DPContest this morning I thought, Oh, they forgot to change the macro abstract... the judges must have goofed the voting. Then I realized it was yours and I had seen it here. It is a great macro photo. I like the compositon and the way the shadows do the crisscross on the egg. Very cool. Congrats!

I like this a lot - the whisk shadows are nice on the egg and the title is great

Simple, elegant. The texture of the eggshell and the whisk contrast well. The lighting is good, great shadows. A print of this would look great in the kitchen, or at a bakery. Larger DOF would be even better - everything tack sharp.

Humorous, great light and shadow. I do think the egg should of been a bit more in focus or moved the back a bit. Still I do like this....it's simple, fun and interesting to view. Great job.
