I was scared at this moment - I'd simply been messing about with leading lines shots of the pier and lighthouse, but didn't find anything that wasn't a disastrous cliche, and the kids came along, messing with the water as kids do. I was perched relatively precariously on the sharp edge of a high rock, and having been concentrating on life through the viewfinder was somewhat surprised by the size of this particular wave coming towards us. It didn't get me, but I was surprised that the kids were still there when it had passed - they laughed, soaked, and ran off. I pondered for a while on what I might have done if they hadn't still been there. Then another wave came.

I hope this has some element of the quite intense fear of that moment.

Wow!!!!!!! What a tremendously scary moment. I'm glad the boys were still there when all was said and done.. You absolutely caught the power of the ocean with that moment.. and the how completely powerless we can be in nature.

I love this shot... you could do an advertisement for what not to do.. a before.. (this shot) then an after (a shot without the boys in it) although rather morbid.. still effective ;)

I wouldn't change anything--dynamite job expressing nature's power and man's, uh, powerlessness. Whatever you did to the water makes it look like acrylics rather than a photo, appealing. Definitely under-rated.

This looks a bit scary to me - I would be telling my kids to get away from there! Post-processing is interesting, almost like a painting. I think that I might have cropped out the top one-third of this, as I think the boys are your focal point.

Whoa! That looks dangerous. How do they hold on well enough not to get washed off the rocks. Very interesting image to look at with great balance.

The brightness levels are just too different amongst the parts of this... the kids are too dark and the light house is way too over exposed.

This is a great effect with all the spray and a good shot with the tower in the background. I defintiely would have lightened the shadows to bring the kids out of the darkness.
