 Living in the tropics it has rained for months on end. Then this topic pops up and we have no rain all week except a quick down poor on sunday. Unprepared I grabbed my gear and connected a 10x Macro Filter. Hand held I took this shot of a fly with wet wings waiting for the rain to pass. At this point he or she was drying its head.

sharpening the bug would be good. not really rule of thirds, but great picture other wise. 8

Great capture! That one wouldn't have been easy. Composing (if you had the time) with the fly on the left vertical thrids line would have given an even greater feeling of little fly on big empty space and added even more to the impact. Good work.

Beautiful composition and clarity. I love the angle of the light green which highlights the fly right behind the leaf. 10.

A nice shot of the fly - I feel that given he is the focus of the shot a tighter crop would have been a better choice
