Critique Club Review:
Technical: Focus is very good, and depth of field is well applied to this image. Color, saturation and hue are done well.
Reaction: A bit too staged for my tastes. The sugar cubes are frozen in space like tiny space stations. It's morning, cup-a-joe, action! I really would have liked to see the moment the cubes hit the coffee. A nice splash shot would be great. Maybe a little steam rising off the surface of the coffee too. As is, the coffe looks almost as frozen as the sugar cubes.
Overall a nice picture, could see it as part of an ad in a magazine, would love to see it redone with some action and energy. |

Thats an awesome photo. Fantastic job with the sugar cubes, and a perfect mug for the shot. |

Of all the cups of coffee entered, I like this best. I like the simplicity, and the lighting is beautiful with the glistening sugar cubes. |

light seems yellow - a quick tweak to make the sugar white or a sunrise in the bkgrnd to give a reason for the yellow light would make this stronger |

I like the simplicity, the colors, the tension as I wait for those sugar cubes to plop! |

Brilliant color, nice idea for a pic, a little bit of action as well, a "kerplunk" would add so much to this...I guess we have to wait forever :) |

Cute idea. Would be really neat if you could see some steam. |

Only two?
Other than the lack of proper amounts of sugar, I really like this picture. Did you suspend the cubes, or just catch them at the right time? |

6: Great shot of the mug and I like the way it is composed in the frame. I think that the sugar lumps "falling" into it are a negative element in this case though - I love to see this with just the mug |
