Tim Burton photographed in a hotel room in Santa Monica.
Didn\'t have a sync cord for some reason so had to place the camera under some Starbucks lids and leave the exposure open for 1 second whilst manually triggering a flash in front of a 50c plastic pumpkin with the self timer - I have no idea what he must have thought!

Outstanding! One of my favorite directors looking like the madman that he is. Very creative with the pumpkin. How did you manage to convince him to do this??

Jeff-

What a wonderful image! I'm sure he was thinking, "Hey that's pretty creative." You've completely captured the personality of this amazing artist. Great job and into my favs!

Thanks for all the comments guys - I thought it might do a little better but you never know and it's one persons taste against another. Till next time.
Thanks
Jeff

Somehow I think you'd have a difficult time make him think twice about anything you did. His is one of the more unique brains you're likely to encounter, and I think you represented that perfectly. I'd like to say i'm surprised that this finished down here, but I'm not. I'm mostly just disappointed. If you had a studio and the right gear, top ten fo sho.

Nice work. The result is what counts - not the equipment, you proved it.

If that is a grab shot that has to be one of the best grab shots of a celeb that is relevant to them I have ever seen. Grab shot mind you.

I mean...What a great eye.......

Heh - love your ingenuity, and I suspect he thought it quite amusing. Congrats on getting the shot in the first place, and I think it's perfect!

It's come down to this... kidnapping celebs tsk tsk ;) j/k
Really nice lighting here. I like the pumpkin face shadow to the right of him but the shadow on the left looks out of place. Maybe a shadow of Edward Scissor Hand's hand?

The shadow on his left is a bit distracting, but otherwise a marvelous shot!

great portrait. you captured so much of his style, his mood, yet the picture seems so intimate. I feel like I am getting a great opportunity to get close to a very guarded person. I'll start this at 8

as in the man? wait a second....this looks real...on a technical note, the shadow on the right is the only thing that should go.

WOW - this is a great portrait. I like the vertical stripes of his shirt vs. the horizontal/diagonal shadowed ones. Nicely done. Oh geez, it's a jack-o-lantern! Bumping up.
