I'd like to have seen the cameras composed differently to break up the straight horizontal line straight in the middle. That would make it more appealing to the eye. I like your idea...just needs a little adjustment. |

funny, I have the exact same old canon. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of other people tell you the same thing too. anyways, things to fix... well, I think the blue camera kind of detracts from the picture. so first of all, focus exclusively on the slr. secondly, if you light it with a flash like that, the background becomes really ugly and you get glare off the subject. light it from the side to make nice shadows and give the image more depth. use different angles and compositions to focus in on certain design aspects of the canon rather than the whole thing at once. |

The shot is very dark and very grainy looking. Add alternate sources of lighting to brighten it up, then adjust the levels in an image editing program to remove the wrinkles. |

ugly flash. wrinkles in the background. |

Instead of having them side by side, did you try different arrangements? The way you have it makes the picture static, it doesn't draw attention or hold it. Maybe if they were in opposing corners, it would work better. karmat |

I lost an AE-1Program just like that, back in 1985. Sad. Fair choice of subject. |

Ok you really have yourself a challenge here - trying to photograph a mainly black camera on a black background. It mostly works but I think you needed more light on these subjects. Perhaps a little off to either side or even from above might have been interesting. There's also very little resolution in your picture. There's blockiness around the highlight in the bottom left of the blue camera. Good choice of subject, though. |

Stretch those wrinkes out, or drape the cloth in folds. Far too many compression artifacts, and the angle the picture was shot from is a bit naff. |

I would have liked to have seen this shot with a more interesting setup. Perhaps have the cameras leaning on one another an take a very tight shot of them. The shot lacks real visual interest. lhall |

There is quite a bit of pixelation going on in this, I'm not certain if it's due to re-sizing or resolution or what. also if you boost the cameras up above the background cloth it might help a great deal to hide it in the photo. (a lint brush is a must) - good luck |

I think your cnoice of subject is good for this challenge... I think you possibly could have uncovered a different perspective on this photo to give it some more punch. The lighting isn't quite even across the frame from left to right.. it gets darker as we move from one side to the other... - jmsetzler |

would have been a better example of juxtaposition if it were taken from a different angle and if the background weren't wrinkled |

To much contrast in light |

Oh no, wrinkles! ;-) Not enough to hold my interest, perhaps a different composition would help. |

Idea is good. I'm going to be frank: Not sharp enough/or too pixelated; I don't like seeing the black cloth and the wrinkles; the setup does not do anything - What I see: a black cloth with 2 cameras placed side by side, taken with a camera with the flash on. I think the idea is there, but the lighting and exposure needs improvement - when using a backdrop - especially black, you need to have the exposure just right as to not see it in the photo. I think the arrangement of the cameras needs to be changed - perhaps at angles. Overall, I'm sorry to say, but this photo is poor - but I think that with some more practice and continued participation here at dpc, skills will improve. Ruthann - 2 |

Nice idead...but you lost me with the dark background. |

nice idea, but I think you could have experimented more with different angles and lighting conditions to make this more interesting. It is also a very pixelated image. |

Composition seems awkward. A more irregular arrangement might have been effective--also a lighter background would have provided more contrast. |

There are people on this website that do not have cameras, but just like looking at pictures. You and I as photography enthusiasts readily know the camera on the left is "old." But would those without a background know this? Really, the Canon doesn't show any aging. It "looks" new.

The photo is not as sharp as it could be. |
