Stumbled across this photo. Sensational!!!!

I am very surprised indeed this didn't get a ribbon, though 5th place is excellent anyway.

Absolutely stunning.

I'm shocked you didn't place 1st. In any case, it is a beautifully rich shot. Well done.

If not for the title I would have interpreted this as burning something not new. The color and texture are wonderful. I can feel the heat of the fire right through my monitor. I wish i could have seen the new without the title though.....sorry I'm not scoring this higher =7 syamjonimi

Looks like you went a little crazy with the contrast and sharpening. Pretty cool picture, though.

Tel me that this was taken in manual mode and I will give you "Highest Technical Honors". The only thing I can find that in my opinion could be improved is framing/croping of the port to show just a sliver more to the right so that the full rim is in frame. My ten this week.

Awesome! My favourite shot so far. I love the high contrast, I can almost feel the heat from the furnace. A 10 from me! - lisae

Great idea. Nicelly captured. The composition is a bit off (I would've liked to see the completed curve on the right) but I'm sure it would be hard to get the flames just where you want them. :-)

Great colours and not just flame but a flame which makes me feel the heat. I do like this. The balance isn't tops for me, I know the vase is at the left but it doesn't quite compensate for all the bright flame at the right. I can't wait to see your outtakes, am wondering if there are any with the craftsman him/herself?

If I'm right, we have a photo of some glass blowing technique. I really like this. Definately unique. Great idea. I think people are going to say it's a little dark, but with the subject matter, I don't think you could have done much to prevent that. Congrats and good luck.
