I see a vertical component in the glass that is in the curved beams, which anchors the vertical axis for this pic. I didn't lock in on that until I looked at it again this morning. I was in London in 99 for a "Scrapheap Challenge/Junkyard Wars" filming. Beautiful city with a wonderful combination of old and new architecture. Deserves the ribbon. I wonder if it's Brit humor that the largest most high profile piece of architecture in the city is named "Canary?" |

I'm glad you did too! This is such an amazing photo. I love the perspective the very small people give to this larger-than-life scene! Beautifully done!

Great initial impression - very nice composition, exposure & tones - well executed - all those angles povide some 'wow' factor, but I'd still need more before voting higher than 8. |

30's and future at the same time. Contrast is very right, and the lines compliment. It would really look strange if there were no people in it. London ? |

Wonderful lines, diagonals and others. Escalator appears to head to the light, and maybe to the centre of the implied circular aperture. |

This is nice. Another approach might be to use a long exposure to lose the people. |

The blue black tones are a good match for all the metal and glass. A great use of diagnols. |

Now who do I know that works near Canary Wharf that might have taken this shot? Hmmmm? This is nice and one of the best of the Challenge. I bet I'll be seeing this on the front page next week. Good Luck! |

Plus: multiple diagonals, color tones
Minus: some selective contrasting would have been nice
Score: 7
