Challenge: Diagonal (Basic Editing)
Collection: Challenges
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di for Canon
Location: Berkshire Hills, Western Massachusetts
Date: Nov 28, 2006
Aperture: f/9
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/80
Date Uploaded: Nov 28, 2006

Essentially straight from camera, a little work with levels and a slight bump in saturation. (Note: came in at last minute and used selective color to shift a little towards the blue/cyan range in the brights and the neutrals)

Taken on the day of Alienyst's wedding, 225 miles from home, as was my "Light on White" entry.

For me this is a strongly diagonal composition, for all that it possesses both a horizontal and a vertical axis. The movement is markedly diagonal, from the very near foreground out to the distant vanishing point. I only hope the voters are able to "see" this in the face of what I expect to be a ton of two-dimensional-slash entries that are in-your-face diagonal. I like this one very much, and enter it with trepidation :-)

Sweet shot! The diagonal is quite obvious to me but then I favour landscapes!

Good shot Bear. Not too much pp. And I see the diagonal when I give it the attention it deserves; should have scored higher. You are the "misunderstood artist" in this challenge.

the title helps me understand the diagonal better, otherwise, i am obviously an unobservant person ;o)

Great job of taking advantage of a thinning mist for a very beautiful photograph. Well done!

The diagonal is subtle at first, but very well done once you see it. Good shot.

The stillness of the water alongwith the reflections enhances the rocks and the trees.

Fantastic shot. Did it take much post work? It looks quite original. 9.

your diagonal vanishing point is very very subtle - probably too subtle to do well in this challenge - however, it is a nice composition
