Challenge: Where In The World Is stdavidson? (Advanced Editing IV*)
Collection: Challenges
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di for Canon
Location: Chatham, MA
Date: Aug 21, 2006
Aperture: f/6.9
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/10
Date Uploaded: Aug 22, 2006

Really pretty basic processing, except in the absence of major elements rule I cloned out several fence posts and a couple of towels on the sand. They might have been legal anyway.

Selected for sky and leveled it separately from foreground. Then did levels on whole thing; this was after sunset, dusk light, and it was all very muted, so I needed to bump contrast. A Little hue/sat, some USM, some gardients/vignetting, resize, border, save for web.

I think that strip of grass anchors the photo very nicely.

Very beautiful photograph, Robert. I also had this as a top pick. I'm surprised this didn't score at least in the very high sixes.

Now Robert, you are the man, and I love this one mate.....
It would also be a great example for the next up-coming challenge, re "Pastels".....

great colours and a very nice beach, Robert.
I like the blur of the grass at the bottom - it gives depth.
Nice work

It reminds me of one of those Where's Waldo (Wally) books. I'm surprised no one managed to photograph a nice head on crowd for the challenge and interpose a Stdavidson head for such an effect. 8.

Nice color and light processing that adds body and depth to the composition. The exceptionally clean look and clarity makes this image good. The greens are great and compliment the lavenders, blues and reds of the sky. The image has an almost surrealistic look to it. Decent technical quality. The people look as though they are searchng for "the lost photographer".
Personally, I would rather have been lost at the beach with a cooler full of beer than with nothing in the desert. Think I'll try it that way next time. LOL! My sister and niece put up flyers along the Oregon coast near one of my favorite beaches there in an attempt to relocate me. - Steve

Very beautiful scenic, that setting sun lighting is very cool. Makes for a really smooth and tranquil photograph. Gorgeous!

Nice pic, and the figures do look as though they are looking for something, but lacks a WOW! factor

The sky, beach, and water have gorgeous colors and I like the processing there a lot. For my taste, the green behind the people is way too saturated though. The composition is classic, though - in a very appealing way. The framing with the grass in foreground is a sweet bonus for me.

beauty though I'd give the lower green more foreground to balance the large stripe of blue at the top

Awesome colors! The sky is amazing in this shot. :) This is the type of shot that makes me happy that wide-angle lenses were developed. :D

Beautifull colors, fits the challenge allright. Should be a top ten. This would have done good in the Soft Focus Challenge as well.
