Ok, so i lied... its not really my pet :P ... Shot was taken at a restaurant where they had bird feeders around with lots of cockatoos, so i quickly went home, got my camera, and came back :P. Was a tough choice between two shots, but i ended up using this one after discussing it with Pedro and wonderbread. Thank you guys for all your help.

- Raw conversion with crop, and exposure adjustment
- NoiseNinja
- Clone out spots near his mouth, and cleaned up feathers as much as possible
- shadow/highlight to bring in overexposed bits
- HSL to pop background
- selective colour to change BG colour
- more selective Noiseninja
- selective smart sharpen
- more dodging on face
- then edge burning as taught by wonderbread :)
- resize for DPC

I see that it took a lot of steps to get this image to look so good. This looks like "Snappy" my lesser sulphur crested cocatoo.. I like the whole image just as you have posted it.

6 - Not sure that the colors (especially in the 'comb') are being complemented by the (nice) background in this shot - but does grow on you. Visually, just seems too much empty space on the right, perhaps more of a square frame may have balanced that out. Also (and apologies if wrong), looks somewhat 'neat imaged'.
