Darkend the background to create the halo effect. Some cosmetic retouching to model. Ajusted color to sepia and cropped. (yes this is a selfportrait) I just stepped out of the box on this one.

I think a little more texture in the dirt would add to the level of interest here.

This was a great concept, maybe mixed with a more brown sugar, would sweeten it up. Brown sugar is more granule-grainy, dirt-like. Another possibility is to also hang a window, made to look dirty in the foreground.

Chris, I don't understand what this is about. Does the dirt represent a tire track and therefore someone who has been "run over"? Also, the dark cheek, chin, and neck distract from the dirty track. For those reasons, I only gave this a 4.

This is a really creative take on dirt with just the one breast covered. There is something that looks a bit forced in the pose - like the model is not "comfortable in her own skin." The dirt on the chin also detracts from the continuity, I think. Do you have any outtakes? Would be interesting to see other poses.

Something in the composition is throwing me off, I'm not good enough to know what exactly. Im thinking "maybe" the lack of light on the subjects face, and not enough reflected light behind the subjects hair. I will study this a bit more. Still way above avg. and very nice.

Chocolate? I've seen more dirt on the butt of bikini-clad girls on a beach.

I'm just not sure what to make of this. I actually held off on voting on it after first checking it out last night. The dirt looks like it was an attempt at making an interesting pattern on the skin, but the processing really makes it look like pudding smeared on her. Normally I'm all for smeared pudding on naked women, don't get me wrong, but it's just not very appealing here. I think maybe there's actually too much clean skin showing to present this as some hidden gem 'beneath the dirt'. Honestly I just can't get my head around the shot. Don't care for the processing, though I can see it being an attempt to make the whole image 'dirty' in appearance. I just get the impression you had vision for this shot and it fell apart in execution. Then again, maybe you think it's the cat's meow and there are 20 other comments agreeing with you. Good luck!

A dirt biker's dream! Good backlight behind the hair. What ever happened here just sort of looks painful.

not sure this works except on the purely prurient level.

The application of dirt is interesting, but ultimately I don't quite get it. I think it's the scalloped nature of the edges. 5
