Re the 'lighter markings': on another look, and coupled with your feedback, perhaps it is spots/something in a pattern on the black fabric, not sure. One almost directly under the cat's right cheek at the fold and the other a little to the right of the elbow, again at the fold.

Hmn. Thought this would have done better. Maybe because of the Santa hat which is why I almost didn't click on it myself, but hat's textures blend well with other textures, and picture has a great unity.

6 - Title is apt. Few lighter markings on the black fabric are slightly distracting. The paw in focus too and perhaps a slight variation in angle for something a bit different, make this better in my opinion.
