Serving spoon against heat-mottled aluminum pizza pan. Lit by bounced flash and tungsten downlights, kitchen reflection showing.
Tone mapped from the single RAW exposure (no HDR layering this one) to bring out the BG texture, exported to PS7
Cloning for details in small areas, corner burning and gradient bottom, hue/sat, gothic glow overlay and faded, sharpening with high pass, resize, USM, border, save for web.
I have very little faith in this image, but WPL3 playoffs require I enter SOMETHING for the team, so let's see. It actually turned out better than I thought, but I can't light-tent this as I don't have a light tent and I was anyway hand-holding the spoon dripping molasses (whatta mess!). Anyway, I've always liked when the reflections show the actual environment, though I'm sure the voters won't approve. Plus of course this is more viscous than sticky... Oh, well. I assure you it was sticky as hell :-) |

You have much better looking spoons than me. Very nice shot. |

It would have been cool to have a reflection of something interesting other than your ceiling in the molasses. Initially I thought of maybe a forest, but I was also thinking at first that it was syrup. |

I wish I didn't see the reflection of the room in the spoon, but more of the beautiful colors, otherwise great picture. |

Nice reflection | excellent colors | the only detraction, IMO, is the handle - it's just too... something - flat, overexposed, un-shiny? seems out of place with the rest of the image -- 9 -- |

One of the better "dripping" pictures in the challenge. Border compliments it. |

Great except that what I like most about this is also what I dislike the most -- the reflection in the molasses on the spoon. I love that there is a reflection, but not what is reflected -- the cabinet and window. The ceiling beams are ok, though. Find another place to do this shot and it could be a 10. |
