Before anyone says anything, i know that the shutterspeed should have been faster but i didn't have time to change it lol, he started flapping wildly all of a sudden and this is the best i could get. Just got this photo at the park today and loved how the female ducks have such a unique pattern on their backs. Most of the body being dark brown to blend in with the brush, but why the purple/blue patches? Hope you guys count this as being a "pattern"

Another great bird shot from you.....but like to see a tighter crop and also more practice re the shutter speed, but I still like it.....

ya im not to proud of this lol, i took it the afternoon of the deadline (i didn't take it FOR the challenge) but when i saw it i though... why not lol. I wasn't expecting to win but i submitted it anyways cuz if i have it, why not right? Oh well, i just wanna get this out of the top 4 and forget about it haha. Faster shutterspeed would have been great but the duck did it so fast i didn't have time to think :P

Beautiful - it's unfortunate that you didn't have a higher shutter speed going!

Interesting choice. Personaly I would have liked to see a stronger view of the 'pattern'.

There really is no pattern in this...

I think I would like it better if more of it were in focus. Like the bird too?

More focus on the wings would have worked better.

this would have scored *much* higher with a faster shutter speed! Good composition, nice idea.....

Sharper focus would help this shot. If the focus on the back was tack sharp, the wings wouldn't matter.
