I love how this is framed by the plants, and it is a magnificant sight. Never been there myself. The lighting is great, however I don't see any indication of weather is is morning noon or night except by the title. Like I said, I have never been there though, to know what morning looks like there, so I have to go by your word on this. It is a great shot. You should try it on other sites as well. Good luck with the challenge.

Cropping off the sky at the top would improve the visual quality. Otherwise this is really good.

Very nice photo, well framed by the trees. Do you have a haze filter? 9 Swash

Beautiful view nicely framed by the greenery---good contrast between the green and the desert--andrewm

I like the framing and color usage.

horizon is falling to the right. rest is just a well-known image. holiday shot not very imaginative

I don't like to see the name of the challenge (new) used in the title... too cliche or something. There are lots of other, more creative ways to express it. Nice picture but a bit too much haze in the background, mutes the rich colors of the canyon. I like the way the trees frame the photo, but think I would have cropped the sky out above the rocks.

nice framing with the greenery. i think i would try to bring up the color in the canyon some more. nice job.

Great shot, great sense of scale, great colour. Only fault, it does look slightly over exposed (I think) at the top.

I am sure I am not the only one who noticed the horizon seem bent. Nice photo, but maybe you could have tried a different time of day and left the sky out of the picture. 5

Absolutely gorgeous picture. not too original

Neat look at Grand Canyon. Horizon seems to be off quite a bit, and that seems to detract from everything else.

Beautiful shot..great job. I love how the trees frame what is a breath taking landscape...

nice shoot but u need to strigthen the horizion out not have it on the angle

Very nice image. I was thinking that you could adjust the gamma down a bit to bring out more color in the canyon, but you be a bit dark on the trees. Focus looks good. Lighting is good. Assuming it really is morning, the subject matter is good and is presented well. 7

Beautiful!!! You captured this really well

Would've liked to see the horizon line up with the top of the frame ... other than that ... what a view!

Beautiful picture, a little weak on the challenge. But OK, I'll buy it. 7

Some people have all the best locations :^) Not sure if the horizon is actually sloping or is titled, but it feels odd. A polarising filter or sheet would have helped cut through the haze in this shot, if your camera lets you use one, This sort of thing is always more dramatic at dawn/ dusk

It might be a "new morning", but I would have much rather seen this in the "Something Old" challenge! This really does not convery "new" to me at all. Very beautiful shot though. lhall

Seems like the title is a stretch to work this photo in to the challenge. It should have included a sunrise or nicely tinted sky to match the title. It is a great shot -- I like how the canyon is framed by the foliage... but I just think it would have been more appropriate in a different challenge. Also, it seems to be a little unnaturally tilted to the right.

(Gasp!) Wow, what a view!
08/12/2002 04:56:00 PM
is that the north rim great shot
08/12/2002 04:32:00 PM
Do me a favor and straighten the horizon .
08/12/2002 03:35:00 PM
Seems slightly tilted

Great shot..good depth and I like the framing with the folliage in the foreground
08/12/2002 12:50:00 PM
nice!!!!!!
08/12/2002 12:39:00 PM
WOW....

This looks such a great view, but it will never look at good on film :( Maybe this would look a lot better if the horizon was horizontal along the picture, or maybe even cropped out all the way. Also you could probably have increased the contrast a little to help the scenery stand out more, rather than the plant-life in front.

Since you're not showing much sky anyway, I would have just framed the shot so there was no sky at all
