 Multiple ribbon winner MayaM pointed out I slacked on my comments. To her, and to the rest of you, I apologize. Here now, the photographer's comments:

The scene is bucolic. The scene is blue.

Bucolic:
Bucolic, although often used as an adjective, is a noun originally describing a type of pastoral poetry that praises rural life over that of the city. The manner of a bucolic is usually somewhat fantastic, and the poetry tends to contrast the pleasant and pure life of the country with the corrupt and corrosive world of society. The term derives from Virgil, and "Bucolics" is a reference to a collection of poems. One set of bucolics was written by Virgil, while Theocritus and others also wrote collections of rusticated poems. In contemporary poetry, W. H. Auden wrote a sequence known as "Bucolics."

Blue:
The term Blue may refer any of a number of similar colours. When blue is a pure colour from a single source, it corresponds with a wavelength range of about 440–490 nanometers. Blue is considered to be one of the three primary additive colours in the RGB system; blue light has the shortest wavelength range of the three additive primary colours. The English language commonly uses "blue" to refer to any colour from navy blue to cyan. The complementary colour of blue is yellow.

Blue:
Blue (2001) is a Japanese romantic drama directed by Hiroshi Ando. It is based on a Japanese manga by Kiriko Nananan, and starring Mikako Ichikawa and Manami Konishi.

It is about two high school aged girls Kayako Kirishima and Masami Endo find that their friendship is turning into something more.

Blues:
The blues is a vocal and instrumental form of music based on the use of the blue notes and a repetitive pattern. The word is also often used in musical contexts to refer to the twelve bar blues, a particular blues song form.

It is left as an excercise for the reader to determine which meaning of blue is suggested in the title. Also, one can discuss at length the use of the term Bucolic - is the photographer refering to the scene itself, of is he suggesting that the scene is itself a visual poem reminiscent of the bucolic poets. Submit your answers no later than Friday 4:45 PM, typed, single sided, double spaced, 13.5 pt font.

that just feels COLD. for the most part, i love it, but something about the siding throws it off. it looks as if it was processed differently that the rest of the image.

This is one of my favorite images in this vast category. I could just sit and stare at this all day. Why? It is peaceful and the clarity is just outstanding. The blues and whites lull you into this starkly beautiful landscape. Excellent job!
