I like how you composed the shot, the way the child is looking into the frame gives at least a good use for the negative space. The focus seems a bit too soft, maybe just a bit more and it would be good. I have never been a fan of selective coloring unless there is a purpose. I guess your intent was to have the hat the subject of the image? Beyond that though, the pose is great and the lighting is wonderful. A nice image and very cute child.

beautiful child and what a lovely smile! I liek the composition, but have to agree with Catherine about the lighting, maybe increase contrast a bit and make a bit sharper?

I like the use of selective desat in the hat, and think your composition is solid. The lighting looks a bit flat, though, and the focus too soft.

i know she's cute, i know she's adorable, and i'm glad she's getting used to the camera at an early age. if you keep working at it and pushing yourself, you'll get where you want to be. just remember, it's not automatic, and it takes a LOT of practice (and patience).

I really like the compositon and the desat is dione very well. I'm a little disappointed with the desat in her face as her eyes now appear somewhat lifeless. hmmmm. Anyhow, nice work and good luck!

Lovely smile. I wished this was sharper.

It is beautiful but too soft for my liking. Nice image though.

I like the composition and the red hat adds punch however the image seems a little soft and the highlight in only one eye is a little distracting.

The idea to use selective color (the hat) is not bad, but the picture laks Image quality to begin with.

nice portrait - the background seem a bit over processed

I like the coloring you have chosen on this (bw with the red hat) and also the composition. However, to me, it is soft, but seems more out of focus than a true soft focus.

Well framed and cute expression, however the focus is way off which will not help your score. Good Luck

nice try but it's out of focus and selective de/saturation is very boring type of postprocessing, sorry nhf please.

Too bad it is not in focus

Good capture. I particularly like how you composed the shot. For me it could be a bit brighter and sharper but otherwise this is a very good keepsake. Good luck.

I think a little more focus/less blur would have helped this shot. I like the selective de-sat.

Good use of selective desat but the pic seems a lil noisey to me

lovely image. sweet expression, nicely done. I'd have liked to see the catchlight in her right eye duplicated in the left. It may have made it a little stronger image, but that's just me being picky. 8
