I want to start out by saying that I am not religous, at all. But that being said, I am a big fan of architecture, and churches have always fascinated me, as they are obviously very special buildings, architecturaly speaking.
Unfortunately, a sacred place to ME, would be with my family, or out in the country, or even a the local bar have a good beer. Unfortunately, I don't think anybody would GET my photo if I went in that direction. So I went traditional. Besides I like photographing churches, so it made sense.
I drive by this church almost every day, but never noticed the saying engraved in the stone above. I thought the statue of Jesus with "Come Let Us Adore Him" in the background would be interresting, visualy.
Mostly cropping in PS, and a little levels and slight saturation adjustments (up and down). USM and Gaussian blur to give it that "HEAVENLY" feel. |

I commented on this one already but it never took! EEK!
I like the idea and the shot but the crop could have been tighter on the top, leaving the lettering out. The lines look good taking you across the shot and the angle is also well done, looking down on you as he protects you. The contrast and brightness could be brought up just a touch to really make the shot pop. Started at a 5, going to a 6 |
