This is Brackenridge Park, where I eat my lunch most days. I love it here so much. This is also where I get my many duck and bird photos. In fact, just behind those trees on the left of the picture is the San Antonio Zoo, where anyone who knows me knows, I spend lots and lots of lunch hours :)

I think the ducks --OOOPS -- I mean GEESE -- :) here tho recognize my car now. I'm no sooner in the parking space when they all come to greet me :)

P.S. I love being able to be a little more daring with processing. I'm having fun. And I like getting to use big borders for this. I'm kind of a border freak - but I don't DARE in a challenge. It's the quickest way to get your photo tossed in the trash heap :) So thanks for humoring me and allowing me to get the border thing out of my system :) I put some soft, glowy actions on this to give it an ethereal look -- since that's how this place usually makes me feel.

lovley image. the soft focus works really well here. and you're making all those stuck in snow belts very jealous. the leading line of the river is a great element. nice work.

Oh, that's just soooooooo tranquil and lovely! What a nice place to retreat to on a busy day! BTW, those are NOT ducks!!!! Do NOT piss them off, they are geese and if you make them angry they'll chase you back to your car and then down the road!....8>) LOL!!!!

I think the borders suit your work well and you probably should add them to your challenge entries after the challenges just to truly show them off!

WOW... The lighting here is incredible! Did you use gaussian blur or gothic glow as well? It's terrific.

Wonderfully soft image, it flows so smoothly, and I don't mind the border at all (but when I recently left a border off of an image that was mostly black, someone actually left a comment asking where it was! ergh! So I can understand your reluctance to use this in a challenge, glad you did it here). I, too, would love to learn more about your post processing steps here.

Wow, just beautiful. As you know, I'm going for quirky, but when I want a dose of beauty, I just have to pop over to your "where I live" images. :)

I like the big border. I guess people want the image to take up as much room as possible in challenges, but pictures look so nice against well-done matting, and your large white area with the thin black border looks just like a matted and framed photo.

So what kind of processing steps did you do?

Wow, I eat lunch at my desk most days. I think your view might be just a little nicer than mine. You've done a great job with this shot. I bet you don't want to leave after lunch is over!

It does look very mystical. How do you ever go back to work after spending time there? It's beautiful.

This is beautiful. I think the postprocessing you did for an ethereal look came out very well. My first impression was of an art print. I can easily see this hanging on a wall as it has a very calming and peaceful feeling.

I too love borders and am prone to using them in challenge photos. I know I get scored lower sometimes, but I just like my pics better with the border.

I do like the borders. I have often wondered what is wrong with a good border. Great shot. I can see why you would repeatedly visit here.
