| I like the lighting and shadows you used here. The angle makes for some very nice shadow pattern. Focus is great and I like how it fills the frame. nice job and good luck in the challenge. |

| Nice - but could be better. The shadow in bottom right corner is disturbing and the background is a bit to active. The paper is grainy, perhaps a softer light would have worked better. I like the black pencil - a yellow one would have been terrible... as in many other photos this time. 7. |

| I like the variety of shadows in this photo and also how the depth of field draws the eye directly to the point of the pencil. |

Nice shadows and the darkness works well. Not keen on the pinkness. Perhaps the paper could have been a stronger diagonal compared to the top horizontal edge?

| I like how your lightinh picks up the texture of the paper and adds character to the photo. The shadow of the pincil also works well. I just can't say there is any thing I like about the pencil itself. |

| I love the composition and feel of this shot. To me, the warm tones make it feel intimate. It would be nice with a bit more contrast though. 8 shedonist |

| This image reflects a nice sensitivity and invokes a nice mood. Unfortunately, it does not "grab" me. Having meaningful text would have helped. Am bothered that the first thing (i.e. the foreground) is the shadow of the pencil. The light in the background right corner doesn't quite work either. There is a softness and graininess to the overall image but that may be a reflection of the quality of your camera. Journey |
