I overexposed by two stops and this guy is STILL underexposed. Those cloudy bright backgrounds are murder, LOL. Will need a lot of shadow/highlight to bring him out. Luckily he is in sharp focus. It's hard to catch the whole pelican in one frame, keep him focused, and expose him correctly. Two out of three ain't bad?

This is just too cool! You did an amazing job at capturing the pelican in mid-landing.

dont apologise for your amazing animal photographs ... keep 'em coming ... love this one ... i really like the contrast between the bird and the white background, which of course is just a personal thing .. i reckon it'd go great put in a sky background as well ... it would just be a different approach .. both could work equally well .. an excellent capture and love the 'posture' of the bird just coming in for a landing ... an amazing photograph .. WOW

Wow, Catherine, this is awesome! It looks like a studio pose with the white background. What a great capture.

As sharp as this is, it looks primed for putting it in a new sky from another shot.
The pelican looks like it's wondering where the treat is for giving you the nice pose.
