Well let me just say that I dont much care for this challenge and I expect few strong entries. This is a tough one. Fortunatley for me there is a working 1800s historical farm just 20 minutes away that my kids love to hang out at. Chatting with DrAchoo about what I should bring with me to have someone pose with, he suggested a cell phone or Starbucks coffee cup. Grabbed a coffe on the way down and staretd asking some people to pose for me. While we were there I took close to 200 images. I was actually deleting images off the card just in case I wanted to get some pics of my kids on our way out since I was down to 1 shot left. I didnt think I had anything good for the challenge. The on eguy I was shooting was helpful but he also needed to get back to work (and I think he thought I was odd even though I had shot him for previous challenges in the past - maybe just scared to say no).

We decided to head into the farm house before leaving and this lady was there making clove bread. The light was coming inthe window nicely and the kitchen was arranged perfect. I asked her if I could take her pic and she said sure but that she didnt look great for pictures. I then asked her if I could put this coffee cup on the table to be in the picture. She looked at me with a smile and laughed pretty hard. I explained to her the challenge I was doing (couldnt remember the word anachronism to save my life) and she pleasantly obliged. She just went back to work and I shot a couple of images.

This was by far the best image I caught and one that I feel fits this challenge to a T. I dont think it feels posed, the noise adds a good effect, the color tones are right, and the green from the starbucks logo is not overwhelming and fits in well. I had the cup in my pocket so it got a little creased. I dont know how it will score but I will say that I have my hopes up for this one - which is never a good sign. Its not a WOW image but I really think its perfect for this challenge and technically well done. We shall see.

PP - RAW converted, levels, double saturation adjustment layers to convert to b&w, high pass, adjusted color to shift to sepia, masked out logo, selective color to tweak blacks, cloned out a door knob and some wood marks from behind, NI, crop, resize, border, USM.

The one 1 must be someone who hates Starbucks, but would you look at the curve on this? Pretty durn amazing. I'm favoriting on behalf of my mom, who thought this the best of the challenge.

This is perfect. Seeing old things in modern times isn't nearly as jarring as seeing modern things in old times. So your idea easily beats the ribbon winners in my book.

And then, of course, you have the typical timfythetoo image quality on top of the perfect idea. :)

Excellent. The green logo doesn't work for me (but I still give this a very high score). I suppose others will say that it's what makes the image for them :)

A good example of the challenge description...although I almost missed the coffee cup.
