"Pride goes before destruction"

and

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition"

and finally

"Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor."

This photograph is trying to scratch the surface of that eternal struggle betwen self and selflessness.

This photo keeps climbing in my estimation. I felt at first it was too dark, but now I feel the chains dominate (as they should) and the identity of the model is secondary. A high vote from me.

the model's hamming it up a little too much. I mean, even if it's camp, the participant should seem genuine about it. It's a subtle matter, but important. Very good otherwise. 7

really not sure what the title is getting at. Doing away with the self. hmmm.... Not sure how it relates to the image either. Image is okay - with that huge white border I would like it to be a little brighter - the border darkens an already dark image.

Bit too dark for me, lacking detail.

wow- great lighting! The pose comes off a little forced but the composition is great & I love how the thick border contributes to the diminishing of the subject - makes the image seem much larger than it is. -- 9 --
