What a cute dog. I think this might have been just a little better if you had gotten down to the dogs level instead of having him look up at you. BAMartin

What's with the eyes?

She looks like she likes having her photo taken. A way to keep the reflectin out of the eyes is to take it at a slight angle with the dog not looking directly into the camera. I understand that you can't exactly tell the dog to tilt her head slightly, so no big deal. I like how she's not just sitting there, she's doing something. I would like to see how this would have turned out from a more front on angle instead of looking down at her. I like this angle, but would like the other angle for comparrison. Great shot and good luck in the challenge.

The composition in the picture is great and the dog looks great. Unfortunately, the flash has created harsh shadows and reflected badly from the eyes. A bounced flash would have greatly improved the shot – sorry to be so negative, good luckâ€Â¦

It's hard to take photos of pets without the flash doing this weird thing to their eyes, but the eyes are so important in a good shot. It seems that the flash is maybe too close or a little strong, judging from his intensely white chest. I often have this problem when using the inbuilt flash on my normal camera. The floor is an interesting background, but I am not keen on the bits of wall/ door and skirting board. Is this room big enough that you could position the dog nearer to one end, take the photo and have the floor as the only background?

I like the way the flash lit up the dog's eyes :) Neat shot! - jmsetzler
