This works great, the only thing bad point i can see is the shadow is slightly off center. |

Not 100% symmetrical but very cool shot. Simplicity is beautiful sometimes. |

Woo Hoo! That's my shipmate! :)
I was one of your 19 eights (8's) (alignment & crop a wee off for me otherwise a 10)
You rock, Lady! Way to go on the PB |

Neat graphic look. The red looks like Jello. Where's my spoon?
Well done, and a great concept too. |

Greetings from the Critique Club!
My first reaction to this image was, "Cool! A Slinky!" ('cause I like Slinkys!)
My second reaction was, "Cool! It's bergiekat's image!" ('cause I like Kat!)
What a fun study in light and shadow! I like the way the shadow becomes the main subject by filling the upper third of the image. The symmetry in the image works in more than one direction--across the middle of the Slinky both horizontally and vertically, and again the Slinky and its shadow. The composition describes the 3-D nature of the subject so well.
I also like how well the individual coils of the slinky are defined by light...nothing blown out, everything in focus. The only thing that bothers me a little is the clipping of the ends of the Slinky...I'd like to see the theme of circles and curves completed at the edges of the frame.
Overall it's a playful image that fits the challenge well and was well received by the voters. Not much to quibble with here!
Keep playing!

Very cool idea! Next time, align everything perfectly (especially the slinky on the line and the light source perpendicular to the line) and you'll get a 10 from me :P now it's an 8 |
