I also have always enjoyed your self portraits and admire that you can do them so well. They are so interesting and expertly photographed and also show that you are a good actress which is so important to pull them off.
This is a wonderful serious and dark black and white that reminds me of film noir.

a powerful photograph for the reality ... your expression seems pensive and nearly anxious at the same time .. great image .. i love the darkness of this because it fits with your expression ... :)
edit 10 secs later after having another look .... altho having said all that i reckon you could break out into a smile any second !!... great shot ....:)

I LOVE how you light these dark portraits with one side mysteriously in the shadows and the other side beautifully lit in just the right amount. I can never get this technique quite right.

And I won't mention how incredibly flawless your skin tones are -- very few women could (or would) pull a photo like this off -- no neat image necessary -- beautiful just as it is!

Awesome portrait!!!!

beautiful use of dark and light...the lack of expression while maintaining an intensity...a most interesting self-portrait to be sure...

You look angry. Are you angry? Tense maybe. What if I pinch your widdle cheeks? Would that get a smile outta ya? Heeeheeeharrr. Just havin fun witcha. This is really good for as dark as it seems. The crop is really tight - in your face, so to speak. :)

Judy

I love off centre portraits and this is a stunning example of its kind. Tones and contrast are to perfection

I look at an image like this and then compare it with my day 1 shot and I realise I have sooooo much to learn

Wonderful
