 "Dot Punk Love" - aka Dot Punk or DPL in the music circle. A combination of hard rock mixed with today's electronica this is their debut album. Using a mixture of old school fundamentals combined with the latest in technology "DPL" has a sound that resonates through the industry. A band that awakens the passion trapped in the current stale generation of music.

Actually going out to shoot for the 30 Day B&W Challenge, but thought this might fit this challenge. Not sure, since album covers are not usually 4x6. Plus I am not sure if I am capturing the essence of the challenge or not. Figure this is kind of edgy for a Rock band.

Anyhow, shot at the Seattle Public Library. Easy lunch time spot to grab a few shots. This one was on the "red" floor.

Shot with my 105 AIS hand held at 2.5 This is through a looking glass to a room beyond. Not sure what junk is back there. I think a trash can and a water facet.

Post done in Capture NX:
- Convert back to color (was shot in B&W mode)
- Slight Straighten
- Some LCH curve adjustments
- Various bch control points to define the dots and person a bit more
- Unsharp mask with a heavy radius
- Resize
- Slight Unsharp Mask
- Convert to color profile
- Non-crop (I like the black border reflection)

I'm not even going to guess what this will do. I guess it depends what people are looking for in the challenge. I really like the photo, so it'll probably do poorly. For some reason I can't get the size down far enough without showing artifacts (stupid Capture NX).

Oops missed the boat on this one. Even with a square crop and some text doubt it would have done well. Still, I rather like the photo.

You do a really nice job with geometrics in your photos. Love the lighting and the silhouettes.

i really like the shot too, but it wouldhave scored much higher laid out as a cover. the mystery of the shadow, the repeated patterns, all good.

Jayson, you did the same thing I did by not using a square crop. I think that hurt us. Nice image though. I could see that as an album cover.

I quite like the intriguing nature of this. I suspect you're probably getting slightly lower votes because of the aspect ratio, though.

I think for this challenge, you really need your photo the size of a standard album and to have some text on it. THis is a very interesting photo though, the pink dots are great!

I wish you would have included text because this is a really great shot but since its an album cover I would rate it higher with text.
