My neighbors St Bernard had 10 puppies on May 5th. They lost one of them on the 11th. As soon as I thought of this challenge "puppy love" came to mind but, I didn't know what the D was going to be until in the editing process. I had several ideas but nothing really clicked until the editing. Divine even makes the hand coming in work for the shot.
pp was auto enhance via layer then erased the background on that layer so that the background remained a little darker using transparancy. Screen and Unsharp mask. Used spot sharpening and blurring and added a little saturation to the tongue. Most of the pp was playing around with the fonts. Flatten, Resize and save for web.

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: Nice focus and you captured great colors in both animals.

Lighting: I'll have to agree with Efergoh and pacpinto on this one. The lighting is a bit too harsh. I think that your flash needed to be toned down a little. That white on the big dog's face seems just a bit too hot for my liking.

Composition/Content: The hand seems a bit out of place and even awkward. I know that this was probably the best way to capture what you were after, but maybe shooting the animals interacting at ground level would have helped.

My Opinion: I think that the voter's were most tough on your lighting. As soon as the image pops up, the eye was pulled right to the whites and held hostage. Still, cute idea and great animals!

Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

Nice puppy. The light is too harsh (direct flash?), the crop isn't square (I really think it should be), but I love your lettering.

Awww! Quite cute! I'd imagine the album has all sorts of teeny bopper hits on it.

m'eh...

The hand on the pup looks very awkward, the light is harsh. the puppy looks as though it is being fed to the larger dog. I'm sorry, I'm just not in love with it. 4
