i found this poppy pod near my house... only problem was it was nestled right up against some chicken wire. so i took my bright orange shawl, covered the chicken wire and searched for the best angle. i like the contrast between the orange background and the blues and green of the pod.
simple PS work: levels, saturation, crop, sharpness, and reduce for web.

Annie- I LOVE the contrast between the orange background and the bluish green poppy pod. I enjoyed the unexpectedness of the orange and thought that it was absolutely brillent. This is a great honor to unipod! You did an awsome job.

Well, the background color really threw me; it almost hurts my eyes, but I do like the way you composed the shot. The pod, though, is very interesting. I've never seen anything like it, and wish there were more detail - more of a macro shot I guess. It certainly fits the username!

Good interpretation of the username. A bit of color noise in the background distracts, but I like the sort of "alien" feel to the seedpod.

For macros sharpness is the key and this is let down by it.

it's been confirmed that the aliens have landed...
