 Taken with my Olympus camera in the super macro mode. Camera was on a tiny tripod (4 inches tall). Lens was about half an inch from the ground.

I was holding my breath as I was taking this photo. The flakes were melting really fast.

In photoshop, converted to grey scale and then to duotone to get the bluish tones. Cloned out dust and sharpened.

Pretty, with nice repetitive patterns that create visual interest. Though this isn't a "high impact" shot for me, it is appealing.

Technical: fits the challenge. Exposure composition focus lighting all good.

This is really nice. I'm curious how you got so close? Microscope? I really like the blue background. Helps it give a feel of cold. Good luck with the challenge!
