 This is the same shell from my not-so-hot Purple entry.

I was surprised at the vibrant red that came out when I applied a strong curve, but I like it. The highlight on the spiral's center comes from a flashlight.

I'm not 100% sure I like the DOF, but we'll see what the voters say. Thanks once again to my DPL team: graphicfunk found the right crop.

This was taken with my new used Kenko extension tubes that arrived today (last day to enter). Thanks to my DPL teammates nshapiro and brownsm for explaining how they work and deapee for selling them to me!

Editing: curves, crop, sharpening, noise reduction

now you're hooked! you'll be looking everywhere to use those extension tubes. they also work on a longer telephoto lens to help reduce minimum focussing distance. Congrats and well done!

NIce! I think the image needs to be flattened a bit lighting wise so the highlights and shadows still carry some information, but most of all I think this image could benefit from a wider DOF to get the seashell's texture without over-sharpening.
