Good use of diagonal with the fence. Good eye! The corn stalk looks awfully lonely... :-( Actually they need others of their kind to pollinate. Good luck in the callenge. Gracious aka Grayce

I like the greens in this, and I like how the fence helps the eyes go across teh picture. karmat

Fine shot, good use of 1/3 rule. I think maybe a little closer to the ear of corn might have produced a more interesting shot. Focus and color seem very good. 7 Swash

The dead plants contradict your title, and I feel it would have been much better without them. Just the corn and the fence are nice.

I think less DOF would give the cornstalk more weight. Too much is in focus for me. But I do like the fence in there.

The color and contrast in this photo is very nice, as is the depth of field... The silk haning from the cornstalk is also a nice element of this photo... - jmsetzler

it is a little lonely, isn't it, especially with the dried plants around it. i think you have a really good idea here, i was in minnesota last week and just didn't get the time to take a photo of corn in a field, but i thought about it. you have a nice fence in the background, and i wonder what your photo would look like if you zoomed in and focused on the corn itself and that way eliminated some of the background that doesn't need to be there. just a thought. -- gr8photos.

The fence seems to pull me away from your subject.

I don't know how i'd improve this image, cuz i don't think a single stalk of corn is very attractive. The fence doesn't help at all; neither do the weeds or dead plants along the fence. 4 sjgleah

I really like the fence and the way it leads you to the cornstalk.

it focused on the fence more than the corn stalk...
