Thanks to the numerous contributors of comments -I'm delighted that so many people were foxed by the close-up shot of that peculiar tomato. It was not a macro shot, just cropped from the largerpic - see tomato journey. If that link doesn't come through, here's the URL in the link: //homepage.mac.com/charlesfrean/TomatoWebPage/pages/TomatoSicTransit-Collage.htm
I'd be interested to hear if you were peeved or piqued by the challenge to identify the fruit ... |

A tomato? Now I am REALLY surprised?! And I see what you mean with the What is it comments! But to me not knowing what it was gave it more interest! |

Interesting abstract. I think the glare around the edges is a little distracting, though. karmat |

Very bizarre, but I like it! Please tell me, what am I looking at? I am not asking to debate the challenge, I accept that, just....what is it? Very cool image. Glare might be a little sharp around the edges. 9 Swash |

Very interesting. The first thought that comes to mind is "what is it?" Focus and lighting are both good. Subject matter is great. 8 |

very original. seem like you took a different aspect of imagination to achieve this. |

Who would know this was a fruit or, in this case I THINK a vegetable (pepper), by looking at this? Clever though. I think I would have panned out a bit on this one. |

Whatever this is looks somewhat interesting... i don't think it holds much artistic appeal in my own mind though... I understand your objective with this shot and the title, but Im not sure what fruit i'm looking at :) - jmsetzler |

ok, i'm looking fwd to the end of the week to figure out what i'm looking at here. i'm assuming you were going for the abstract look, and then you've definitely achieved your goal. i think i personally would be happier if i knew what i was looking at. i'll keep coming back ... maybe it'll come to me. -- gr8photos. |
